Description
Poetry slam founder Marc Smith’s CD spans his 25 year career with live and studio recordings; solo and with instrumental arrangements. The tracks include: originals “Nobody’s Here”, “Bicycle Jockey”, “My Father’s Coat”, “Bold New Americans” and “For the Little Guy”. The CD also includes two Carl Sandburg poems “Prairie”, and “Mamie”, as well as Baudelaire’s “Be Drunken,” and poems written by Marvin Bell and Paul Lawrence Dunbar.
Marc Smith’s CD unites a number of disparate elements into a surprisingly coherent whole. It’s all there—the populism, the past, the present, the entertainment, the meaning.–G. Murray Thomas,poetix.net
